Hi can someone advise me please, parents are visiting in July and their return flight to the UK leaves Basel at 06.10 so will need to book hotel near the airport preferably with bus transfer? Does anyone have suggestions or preferred hotel option, thanks for your help

Prefer to stay near SBB Railway station, there are lot of hotels near that.
There is a direct bus from SBB to Airport bus#50 which takes 15-20 mins to commute. The bus starts at around 5 AM.

This, http://www.airporthotelbasel.com/, as far as I know is the closest hotel to the airport (on the Swiss side anyway).

I believe that it has a shuttle service and would be closer than the SBB.

Thanks Aryans, they did think of this but as flight is 06.10 then first bus only gives under 30 mins till check in closes, they much prefer to have plenty time at an airport so i think will have to be one with a shuttle service. If there are any in Basel as apposed to at the airport then that would also be an option, thanks again,.

The #50 bus stops at the airport hotel, so getting there by public transport should be easy, if that is your concern.

As for other hotels, then your best bet is to Google for the main hotels, e.g. Radisson SAS, Hilton, Swissotel etc and seeing if they have a shuttle service. Or, call the airport and ask them about hotels with a shuttle service.

I've stayed here one night between connecting flights and it was nice. I'd take the stress out of it and just put them in here for the night before, it's 5 mins from the airport. But if they're staying longer stay somewhere in town the rest of the time.

We have also stayed at the basel airport hotel, since our flight was 6 in the morning. I would recommend it. There is a free shuttle indeed, but we were told for that time(hours before 7) it was reserved for the flight crew..so there was no place for us, eventhough we were travelling with a babyFortunately we had another option, the public bus just stopped a few meters from the hotel and we recieved a card that we could use the service for free. It is a good option to stay here the night before the flight. Hope this helps u further

Or you can stay anywhere in Basel. Just call the services cabs and they will be right away on your door to pick you up at whatever time you need.

Looks to me like the first bus from SBB is at 4:55, and arrives at the airport at 5:11, which is plenty of time at the Basel Airport for a 6:10 flight.
