Weather in Zermatt

Hello,

We are traveling to Zermatt tomorrow. I saw on Yahoo that the temperature is 18 C. However, since there is snow there, may be it is colder than that. So what kind of coats do you recommend me to have? do I need a heavy winter coat, or a leather jacket is enough?

Re: Weather in Zermatt

Are you staying in the village, or are you planning to take a train/lift/whatever to a (much) higher elevation? If you are going up, definitely bring something really warm.

Re: Weather in Zermatt

It is the mountains, in spring it is 4 seasons in a day. So lots of layers and sunscreen!! I have been working in Glarnerland (900m)vthis week, snow and thermals in the morning and shorts without a shirt in the afternoon but if the weather comes in you had better be prepared, happy travels.

Re: Weather in Zermatt

As others said, it depends how high up you go. Several layers is the answer.
