Re: Butterflies

Another resource for the OP, the Bundesverordnung über den Natur- und Heimatschutz:

http://www.admin.ch/ch/d/sr/4/451.1.de.pdf

Pages 24 and 25 list protected butterfly species.

However, the NHG gives further authority to the cantons... so as per my post above, contact the Tessin Veterinäramt. (I have no Italian, so my research re: TI has been futile... sorry.)

Re: Butterflies

A butterfly's beauty is only fleeting. It's only right that it should be preserved.

When it comes down to it, what's the difference between the OP pinning a butterfly to a board and my hobby of nailing prostitutes to a cross?

By doing it, you take away the pleasure of a lot of people....

Wait, so there's no fishing or hunting allowed in Switzerland?

I'm a bit curious to know how all that wild meat comes on sale in the fall if that's the case. Eat Swiss beef but not Swiss venison or boar?
I am quite sure you know very well that hunting and fishing are very tightly controlled here. Without the training, the exam, the license and the quota, you ain't going to kill anything here without risking a heavy fine.

Much of the game meat on sale here is farmed in eastern Europe and New Zealand. Boar are a nuisance to farmers, and are culled in Switzerland, France and Germany.

A friend of mine was licensed to fish on a stream in Canton Vaud. He wandered along the bank fishing and accidentally was caught fishing 200 meters inside Canton Fribourg. He was fined CHF 400,--

Quite right, but not by pinning it to a board.

The following is a more than adequate, and far more humane, method IMO:-

You didn't get the subtlety of the second paragraph?

Can't see your pic, Flickr's blocked at work. But I imagine it's of a pretty butterfly rather than the crucified hooker.
