"Living and Working in Zurich" at the Town Hall

In the post, presumably as a result of registering at the Town Hall just over a week ago, I've received an invitation to "Living and Working in Zurich: Useful information for English speaking residents" from Stadt Zurich in the City Hall on 7th July.

Anybody been to one of these? Are they useful or will anybody who's hung out on here for a couple of weeks and read the book "Living and working in Switzerland" find it all a bit too basic?

The leaflet says it will provide "Information on the following subjects:
- Zurich: who lives here>
- Employment
- Living in Zurich
- Leisure activities
- Languages in Switzerland, German language courses"

Don't forget to ask the chair "Where are the apartments for the Zurich population to live in?"

I went to the one in Basel. Information wasn't so useful (it's common sence really) but it was great to sit inside the old town hall, they had a small interlude with a jazz band, and you get to mingle with other newbies over nibbles and wine afterwards.

And it's free! Well, included in the B-permit cost.
