I've looked all over the EF, searched as many term combinations as I can think of, looked at the city of Adliswil website, read the Abfallbewirtschaftung we received in our letterbox AND read Longbyt's sticky on rubbish-waste-garbage and I'm not getting any closer to an answer....So, apologies ahead of time for starting a new thread!

In Adliswil, is it possible to arrange a pick-up for a broken couch?

I know where the Tufi waste disposal center is (and their ridiculously limited opening hours), but I'm 6 months pregnant and we have no car, so it would be a lot easier to have someone come collect it.

It's broken beyond repair so a Brocki would not be interested in taking it.

Can anyone help me?

Congratulations on having looked in all the right places before asking!

I cannot see a specific phone number to ask, but I'd try the council offices and see if you have any joy. In some places you can ask for a skip, which you can then fill. Or maybe, if they are really not cooperative, you could put an Ad in here under Jobs offered.

You need stickers: "Gebührenmarken" - the more of them depending on weight. 20 kg - 30kg require 4, beginning 30 kg it requires 6. Items over 30 kg or/and dimensions 50x50x100cm won't be picked up by the Kehrichtabfuhr.
"Gebührenmarken" can be purchased even at shops. At my place Coop have them. If not, ask your neighbours where

I think that foliorose checked all that out and her problem is that the couch is bigger than the maximum size given and breaking it up is a job for a big guy with the right equipment and can hardly be done in the flat early one morning prior to taking to down to the roadside on the right day to be collected.

If you are buying a replacement couch, simply ask for the old one to be taken away when the new one is delivered. The furniture suppliers are obliged to do this...
