My oven and hot plates in the kitchen have become really dirty Can anybody tell me what is the name of the "cleaning solution/spray" in zurich that is used for cleaning the oven? Can I get it in Coop or Migros?

I don't expect that the oven cleaning experts on here are around on a Sunday afternoon (having cleaned their oven before they went out).

Oven cleaners can be AGGRESSIVE and you need to know which one will not make matters worse by removing the surface or something similar. So before most folk will answer your question, they might ask you a few things too. What sort of oven is it? What sort of 'hot plates' do you have? Do you have an instruction booklet? What is the make and number of the oven? Does the word 'katalitisch' appear in it?
Even if the booklet is not in English it might help members to find the best stuff to use if they know a bit more.

Coop and Migros will both have 'Kochplatten Reiniger' and 'Backovenreiniger' but, as I said, try to find out which one is suitable for your equipment before you try anything out.

Look or ask for Backofen- Herdplatten- und Grillreiniger. In my experience brand names are irrelevant as they all work more or less the same.

you need to spray the oven at least 2 days before and then it is really easy to clean. If you have a self cleaning oven do not use the the cleaning sprays as they will damage the surfaces. The foam spray cleaners are the best.
