Getting rid off pre-loved electrical items

I have some old computers and other electronic stuff I need to get rid of. Not sure if I can just stick this in the normal bins or need to do something special with it? If it needs to be taken somewhere special, can someone please advise where the nearest place in Schaffhausen is?

Re: Getting rid off pre-loved eletrical items

Find the nearest electrical store like Fust and dump at their bins usually located at the rear - they will take it to the nearest electro-recycling center since in CH all electrical items have their SWICO / recycling fees into the selling prices.

What to do with old computer equipment?

Hmm. That would be pretty good. There is a Fust near me but I'm not sure they'd be happy with me offloading a box full of crap on them...

I'll try again. FWIW, I did once try to take a broken CFL bulb to Migros for recycling but the woman didn't know what to do with it and just stuck it in the normal waste.

Re: Getting rid off pre-loved electrical items

I never had problems - in case of doubt, I refer them to the SWICO tax and that they are obliged to take it without any fee, and it usually ends there.

Click on the PDF file next to the heading "Entsorgung von Elektronik- und Elektrogeräten" on this website and scroll down. There's a list of all collection points on the second page.

- Linksys wireless router
- Various RAID cards (battery backed cache)
- Various Fibre Channel HBAs
- Network cards etc.

Just let me know
