I think this was planned, it's cannot be a coincidence to stop working 7 pm exactly....unless Begga is sharing with us from above

She has a wonderful collections of beautiful pictures. Why not take those pictures, developing them, putting them in nice frames and make a really nice exposition open to public?

That will be the best tribute for her and her passion!

And the money you are collecting now, if not to give to her mother, could contribute to this. And who knows, maybe she could bring them back home or it could be sold to raise money, etc..
This is a brilliant idea... I am in no position to be able to initiate that, but would be more than happy to contribute and participate in the initiative and/or buy any of Begga pictures as a tribute to her.

Re: Remembering Begga

I'm the skinny guy, Ian, from Begga's 1000 post. I remember that day well, and indeed every time we met up to go on a photo walk, the latest being in Zurich Zoo only a few weeks ago. I've always been a lurker on this forum, as my post count will testify, but regularly attended events, almost all of which Begga also attended.

Until now I've been too shocked and speechless to post anything as words just fail me! But when I read the quote below, I knew this was something I could support and help with to honor her memory.

I have a professional A3+ photo printer and if that would be big enough, I would happily donate some of the prints necessary.

She was an amazing person, I still can't believe it!

Re: Remembering Begga

I am happy you like my idea. I wish to be there and be able to create this project and make it real. Sadly, the distance makes it impossible.

If I could, I would like to fly to Basel just for the event. I am not sure how logistically I can do this with a very young baby and a pre-school girl...

I certainly want to get a picture from her if it is done. I want to have a piece of Begga in my home.

Looking at a picture she did will make me feel closer to her.

Her infectious positive mood, her way to initiate event and meetings, her almost Mediterranean mentality, such things are what I still have in my mind.

People might share REAL photos of her !

I'd like to say thanks for the wonderful welcome the Basel crowd offered me and my friends today. Thank you all. I derived great comfort from being with you and berated myself for waiting until such a sad occasion before getting my arse into gear. Begga would have been so proud of you.

oh god, oldhand - where are my manners

Yes, a big thank you to the Basel crowd for welcoming us today. It was great to finally put faces to certain names. I wish it was under different circumstances.

To all of you Baselers who have pulled together to make sure that everything is well taken care of since Friday: your strength is truly inspirational and humbling. I salute you all.

PS: can I request that we do not turn this thread into a discussion about road traffic? If any of you who has any ideas or suggestions as to where I can start researching for the right channels to send the petition to, statistics to back it up, or an offer to write/proof read the petition so that its really perfect High German (as I know mine is bloody awful), please PM me. Appreciate it.

Thanks, summerrain..not a good place for road traffic debate, nor technical details of our friend's tragic accident. Thanks, all.

Really sorry we were not able to make it to Basel today. You guys are troopers.

Oh no.

I just came home, and saw this thread. She was such a great person, and whenever she was present, fun was guaranteed. I did not know her that well, but still i miss her.

All the best wishes for her family, friends, and Teckla.

I learnt about it right at the start of that party in Höngg on Friday evening. I raised one glass or rather two of Pastis in her honour, and had her in front of my mind even at night, resulting in a serious hangover. But what, a hangover is something you survive with waving colours let's be serious, had someone also aged 60plus become a victim of such a accident it would have been a lot of a difference, but age 30 ???!!!
