Nespress De Longhi Lattisima Reviews

Hello EFers,

My husband and I are interested in buying a Nespress De Longhi Lattisima and we would like other EFer's feedback.

Based on the various reviews in the internet the only negatives we see are

1)The coffee coming out sometimes is not hot enough.
2) The frother isnt great .Is this true?

Would somebody using or owning one already be able to pass on their inputs about the lattisima esp the negatives?

Thanks for your help.
AS

We have one and love it. Never had a problem with coffee temp and the frother works fine, but you have to make sure the tube is fixed correctly inside the milk container, otherwise it won't froth properly.

We've had one for about 3 years. We bought a spare frothing assembly a year or so later, and saw that they've changed to tube... It fits better, but both work. Just make sure the tube fits well and you adjust the piece on the top to get the right amount of froth. I find that if you decalc it every couple of months it works just fine. It is the most relable machine we've had, even guests can use it. First pod machine i've used after having a gaggia, briel, saeco, and i did have a lavazza for a year - that wasn't so great.

Temp of coffee is fine. My husband mainlines the stuff so it gets a lot of use. Perhapsthe coffee doesn't achive some sort of sensual nirvana, but after years of taking apart and cleaning manual and semi automatic machines, i find the coffee and frothing system quite good.

Agree with everything you say Edot - this is my experience too. It is a very very good machine but if you really want the perfect just ground coffee and the impeccably frothed milk, then an automatic will never do it for you. But - if like us - you really struggle to notice a huge difference between perfection and very good, and are after convenience - then buy the machine, as you will not be disappointed.

But just because it prepares your drink automatically, don't forget (as we often do) that there is not an automatic magic coffee cleaning fairy. It still needs the milk attachment beaker thing, coffee pod bin, water tank and drip tray cleaning fairly regularly (if not quite every day then almost).

I particularly like that you can programme it to your preferences for how much milk/coffee ratio so that you get it not just to your taste but more importantly, exactly to your favourite coffee glass size (so very much more important).

Re: Nespress De Longhi Lattisima Reviews

We've had the Latissima for 2 yrs now and I love it. No issues with the coffee not being hot enough and the frother is great, in fact you have 3 options very frothery, medium froth or no froth at all.

I make caps every day in my Latissima and haven't had a bad one yet!

Re: Nespress De Longhi Lattisima Reviews

We bought one a couple of years ago. We seldom use the milk attachment. The coffee always seems hot enough and tastes consistently good (or, good enough for someone like me who isn't a coffee expert).
