| | Found a bike
Hi everybody,
every day that I walk in a street I see a bike, open, and the wheels punctured and it looks that is there from long time.
I was thinking to repair it and use it but I don't want to steal, so how could I check or go in a legal way?
Thank you

It's probably been abandoned and you can take it. My sister in law bought her bike from a guy who owns a bike shop who also fixes and re-sells bikes which he's found in a knackered condition around the city.
Look at it as a form of recycling... | This user would like to thank for this useful post: | |

It's probably already been stolen........ then abandoned.
take the bike home, and get the serial number and ask the Police.
If it's not registered.... it's yours

I see lots of "borrowed bikes" laying around the streets of Zurich in the early morning..especially around the Bahnhofs. Be careful.

The two aren't punctured, but they are too soft to ride.
On that note, I did lock up a bike somewhere that had punctured tires, I just don't remember where.

(the OP mentioned that he 'found' an unlocked bike that had punctured tyres........ you said you had a bike to repair that was unlocked)

Very possible it might be the same one, considered it at first, but it's in a bit 'out of the way' spot, so fingers crossed

Well, if it looks abandoned, go for it. You could try a Ad at ronorp.net, I did that once and got several feedbacks, but not from the owner. But the chances are slim. Stadt Zürich collects the unlocked bikes and auctions them off, so it's gonna get taken anyway: http://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/ted/de/i...teigerung.html
I think that would be a good business idea, hallovelo.ch, where you can post abandoned bikes. There are so many in this city, as there are a lot of bicyle thieves. Not possible, legally...
