Calling all garden furniture experts, and the Swedish...

For my garden I'm trying to find a one piece 6 seater bench and table.

Ideally what I'm after will be an all log affair that has been cut strategically to make a smooth table and pair of benches. I met a Swedish lady in the mountains near Chur that had one and she described it as something like a "Swedischer kurztische" though my Swedish is worse than my German so it could, frankly, be anything..

So - One piece like this.

but in the style of this

e.g. more woody...

Has anyone any idea where I can get one, can't for some reason find the perfect picture on google images...

This guy does some amazing things with solid wood, mostly indoor I think but I'm sure he could do outdoor stuff too.

We have some 3m long solid tree trunks donated by our neighbour that I am going to try to carve into bench shapes with my new chain saw.

I'll let you know how I get on at the hospital

Re: Calling all garden furniture experts, and the Swedish...

I'm not sure if you have one yet but I've found someone who makes the rustic tables & benches

The table with 2 benches cost 2000chf (for the 3 things) - they are all 2m in length but they can make them up to 4m long (although that is for the table not sure about the benches!). They use them in the restaurant as well so we sat at one for lunch - the tables are very tactile and could seat 8 people

Anyway - they are made at the restaurant as you drive into Davos - the end of the lake away from the town. If you want the guys number let me know

Hi Shaz,

I saw the table you mentioned and called the number on the sign, for a table and two chairs its 1600 CHF which was OK but then there was a 300 CHF delivery charge - I'm in Flums, he's in Mels. 300 CHF is a little steep so I'm going to see if I can whistle up a hire van and do it myself. Also its not all connected up though which is one of my (dream) requirements. I'll go take a look at the restaurant you mention in the next couple of weeks too.

Interestingly enough, I'm in Sweden, and haven't really noticed a great number of these. Perhaps out in the Stockholm Archipelago, and I guess they really only appear at the Swedish version of the Ferienhaus (sommerhus.)

They are nice though. Hope you find your dream table there in Davos!
