Interview at University of Zurich

Hi! Greetings from Greece. I would like to ask, if there is anyone familiar with the process, about the procedure following the application deadline at the University of Zurich. The deadline was 1st July and although a friend of mine did receive an answer (negative), I did not get any. I know that they make a shortlist of applicants and then calling them for an interview but shouldn't I get a response too? Should I wait? I am really anxious about this and any help from someone who is familiar with PhD admissions at this university would be nice.

Re: Interview at University of Zurich

Hello !

Don't worry, if you have been selected, they will contact you. And if you haven't, they will too. Maybe they have several level of selections, and your friend didn't pass the first one and you did. Or maybe your friend sent his application before you, and they treat applications in the same order that they receive it. But I can understand that you are really looking forward to it.
Wait a little bit, and if at the end of the month, you don't get any answer, send them a mail. But you know, patience is the PHD best friend... and also the post doc best friend, but you'll figure it out in few years

I hope your 'll get a positive answer soon !

Thank you for your direct answer. I consider that as a possibility but wanting it so much makes me act childish. Thank you!
