which mag / newspaper offers objective reviews of performances?

i recently went to a dance performance by a us troop and thought that they put the B team on stage instead of the A team, which I had seen in London in earlier years. i checked the reviews of the performance under google news, but nothing came up that was critical.

is there a critical press for cultural performances / events? keen to hear your thoughts and experiences.

I very much doubt that you will agree with every review that is in the paper. Taste is a very personal thing. You might see something that has glowing reviews in the paper and you will end up wondering what the fuss was about.

Let me give you an example. On imdb.com, Avatar was a grade of 8.2/10. I didnt see the point of that movie. Does it mean than i have no idea about what is a good movie? No, it just means that me and the persons who review the movie have totally different tast in films. Big deal.

i agree that taste is personal. however the london press (eg., FT, Independent, Guardian) seemed to gave both good and bad points in their reviews. does the swiss press also give good and bad points? or is it a formulaic glowing review for everything?
