sewing materials and classy fabric

Does anyone know where I can buy more classic/vintage style fabric patterns for sewing? I've tried Ikea and the fabric store in the city, but the selection is limited and unattractive to me. I've also tried every thrift store I've seen, but no luck. I love vintage colors and patters (damask, paisley, etc) but they are so hard to find here in Switzerland. Does anyone else sew?

Any suggestions on where to buy interesting material and sewing accessories close to Winterthur/Zurich? Thanks!

You can find sewing accessories at Bernina shop, Talacker 35 in Zürich,
http://www.naeh-szene.ch/.
They are very helpful and I'm sure they can suggest a few shops to buy fabric.

I think I saw classy fabrics inside Hannes B store at Wuhre str at the corner of Munsterbrucke.

You could also order online from several sites.

This Brockiland http://maps.google.ch/maps?rlz=1T4SK...55015798933255 has quite a good selection of old curtains, some of which are quite funky vintage stuff if you are willing to search a bit. I would not make a special trip but if you are close by it is definately worth a look. Their other stuff is ok as well.

Thanks for your advice. If I'm in the area, I'll certainly check that out. Trust me, I'm not afraid to dive right in where there's vintage/classy material.
