Sounds like a collective militant consumer group could go on line, book all the seats (without paying for them !) just to send a message to the Airline. This would of course mean a flood of seats coming back onto the market at cheap prices...

I've just booked a flight on Lufthansa on their website. They had a 7 CHF charge for using a credit card but the other option to pay was Paypal. So I clicked "paypal" and simply entered my credit card details into there. No account, no registration. So that saved me 7 CHF.
Plus the flight was half price on the Lufthansa website compared to booking the same thing on the Swiss website (not that I would have gone on this trip at the Swiss price).

However, by eliminating that "difference" and "keeping abreast" with the other airlines, I have no reason to pick them and not their competitors.
Add on an extra 22CHF for each return booking (on top of other recent price rises) they no longer compete on cost on my preferred route. That was their last redeeming factor, as since handing over some operational duties to BMI the quality of service has dropped markedly.

SWISS was already replaced by Expedia for me due to their ridiculous CHF 30 "service fee" that comes on top of each booking, while it doesn't for the exact same flight at Expedia.

Why will it? Because you think that they figured that we'd all be happy to pay it and will get a massive shock that we don't? And then they'll look at the only companies that make money in European aviation who all do the same.....and have full planes?
I suspect that it won't make a huge amount of difference to i) their policy and ii) you flying with them if they fly to and from the place you want to go

They maybe did not mention it, not to piss readers off! | | | | | I can pay with my maestro card using secured ebanking, I have done that with KLM.ch for instance.

Unbelievable, I will never ever buy tickets there any more. I wonder what they are thinking. Are the margins that narrow to pass costs on like this? Swiss is anyway one of the most expensive airlines around. This will certainly cost the travellers.

I'm certainly not forcing people to complain on their page just merely suggesting if a lot of people were to do it publicly they could very well reconsider.
