Can you recommend a small chalet/house.....

Hello everyone

I am expecting visitors from abroad and I would like to rent a small house/chalet for them for a weekend in September.

My preferences are the following:
  • On a mountain, near a lake or quiet nice place
  • Self catering
  • 2-4 people max
  • Ideally not shared with others
  • Ideally takes a dog (but will consider leaving dog with a friend)
  • Not too expensive, nothing fussy...just a small tranquil place with hot water, a bed and electricity.
I did of course carry out a background research but most places I found take large groups of people 10+ or hotels. I am more looking for something simple.

If you can you recommend anything I would be thankful?

Bettmeralp has loads of exactly what you are looking for.

You can get small Alp Huts in the town which sleep 2-4 people. They are about 60CHF pppn AFAIK. It's an amazing place with a small lake to walk around just above the town and you can go and view the Aletsch glacier from there too.
