Most homes lack ACs and frostfree refrigerators?

I know it's HOT now but it won't be for long so there's really no point to AC. I bought a few fans that's how I'm coping.

AC is not the norm here. Without looking at your profile, would I be right in guessing you are from the US. Bad for the environment. Most offices don't have them either.

I'm in Swaziland already according to the Exxon pension people in the US.
They don't understand CH so they insist on putting Sw for Switzerland, and you can guess the rest.
It takes a very long time to arrive.
Off topic, but I'm hot and fed-up and could do with an air-con. which, by the way, my Australian brother calls an 'eggnishner'.

Just saying..because i'm sure there are more out there than the OP thinks. I didn't that in the last 15 or so years you could buy a new fridge/freezer that wasn't frost free. Does this mean that most people have very old fridge/freezers? Or just Swiss landlords not updating kitchens for 20+ years?

I had a baby in the last week of May. The heat drove me mad in the last weeks of pregnancy and even madder a few weeks postpartum . The ice gathering in the freezer added to my frustration.
The heat does not bother me as much now and I have another Bigger frostfree refrigerator now so I am not complaining ( I would have complained a Lot had I posted this Q a couple of months back )... now i just wonder "why?"!

Yes, what is up with frost building up in the fridge??? I thought it was just only me. I have tried changing the temperature but no help. Mine is a built in fridge that came with the apartment. I`ve learned to live with it. I am grateful though, bc it is a good size (aka not the short tiny ones).

Hot weather is something good, enjoy it while you can (BTW, I don't know if you can call 32 degrees Celcius as hot?:P)

Why would anyone need a frost free refrigerator? You need to clean the frost once in 6 months. But in order to have a frost - free refrigerator, the producer has to put another fan on the freezing unit which will increase electricity consumption unnecessarily (I worked for 3 years in a refrigeration factory so I know all the unnecessary details about the regriferators)

What's the problem with manual defrost?

ACs are bad for the environment and you only "need" them for about three weeks of an entire year. Find other ways of staying cool.

Which doesn't involve leaving the fridge open, which would also solve your ice build up.
