Drill baby drill

At what point do you start feeling guilty about drilling holes in the walls? I need to fix lot of stuff and feel scared about the neighbors going postal on me. I am keeping the drilling time to between 1 and 5pm this week. Am I being too cautious or shall I just go all Swiss cheese on my walls?

You drill when you feel like? What is the law? Want to be prepared if shit hits the fan.

My Makita is dying to do some more damage. Waiting for a reply before I unleash it on my neighbors.

Your Makita is fine for nomral plaster but it wont work on stone walls. You need a perforateur drill like a bosch .it will work faster and make less noise

Re: Drill baby drill

You can drill during the times you mention above but perhaps it might be worth going up to your immediate neighbours and informing them. Someone might have a baby/toddler they've just put to sleep and will be off-their-head if you let rip with your drill.

At least that way you give them some time to load the baby into pram and make themselves scarce for the afternoon.

There might also be some poor sod whose come home from work with a shitty cold and is hoping for some peace.

Talk to the neighbours beforehand and explain what you are doing

I would not but have to gladly follow the Swiss Rule of Thumb: Drill while its daylight but not on a Sunday.

Of course, there have been reports of someone in our village using the sound of the August 1 fireworks to dampen the sound of drilling well into the night.

Re: Drill baby drill

I did a lot of drilling when I moved into my appartment. It was always in the evenings before 10pm or during Saturday day times and no-one complained. I've heard other neibours drilling at similar times and haven't noticed it causing anyone else any problems.

Another thread with sexy euphemisms; I for one, shall not stoop to such a low level and make public my sweetheart's drilling schedule.

Re: Drill baby drill

Just drill, don't overthink it. And don't try to space out the drillings in an attempt to make it less annoying to neighbors- that's more annoying. Plan out what you want to do and drill all at once (as much as you can).

Re: Drill baby drill

I spent Monday doing a lot of drilling (SDS and Power) - using an angle grinder - and a power mitre saw - OUTSIDE

Between the hours of 0800-1200 and 1330-1700

And this is a drill
