| | where to drop broken flowerpot ?
Hi Guys,
Good afternoon.
Unfortunately I broke some of our flowerpots yesterday. They are quite big, but not as big as furniture...
Sorry if my question is silly ... I just don't know where and how to throw them away ? Should I leave them outside near the grey trash bin ?
Thanks in advance...
Fei

If you put a sticker on them, they'll probably take them, or take them to the local tip (entsorgungshof)

Depends where you live - here you would have to take them yourself to the local large bin for inert materials in the centre of the village. Each area is different- dropping them by the bin is asking for trouble.

Fei | | | | | When you throw away normal trash, you throw it in either an official pre-paid bag or in a normal bag with a sticker on to show you've paid the charge for removal. One of those stickers stuck on the item will probably suffice. As odile says though, depends on the area and the size of it
Otherwise, there is probably a regular "large trash" collection day in your neighbourhood.....search on the gemeinde or town website

Fei | | | | | Some areas/Gemeindes (usually not cities), require a pre-paid sticker (like a letter stamp) to be affixed to standard refuse sacks, as opposed to prepaid sacks (normally cities - which I assume you use) ..... or for me, as I've moved up market, - I am provided with a wheelie bin, but will ultimately pay more local taxes for refuse collection.
Re. your broken pots, check your abfall kalender for the next spehrgut (big stuff) collection.

Im in Zurich, so I think Zurich sac should be the solution. But for the "Large Trash collection day", do I need put on any special stickers on them ? And leave them where ?
Thanks.

Just a quick question again...(Sorry I am just a beginner for German language)
"ERZ Entsorgung + Recycling Zürich macht Ihnen beim Recycling den Hof: Als Zürcherin und Zürcher erhalten Sie im Dezember per Post die Entsorgungs-Coupons, mit dem Sie bis 400 Kilogramm Haushaltsperrgut gratis entsorgen können. "
Does this mean that, every December, they will send us free voucher for 400 kilogram to dump the mentioned sorts of big trash?
Thanks.

To my knowledge, the garbage sacks can only contain trash that can be incinerated, which may include small ceramics, but not large. There is a weight limit too.
Large pots need to be taken to your local recycling center and put in the kip for construction waste, such as masonry, bricks, etc., for which there is no charge or sticker necessary.
