Laptop repair

Something bad happened.

Somehow I pulled out the plug before the laptop had fully shut down & now when I tried to turn on the laptop, nothing appears on the screen even though I can 'hear' it running.

What happened & can someone help for a reasonable fee if possible?

Pls pm me if you can help...
thanks.

Try resetting it by keeping the power button pressed for about 15-30s.

Re: Laptop repair

Too bad you are not in Basel. I could fix it for you, for free. :/

You can try pressing f8 or f12 during boot, and see if it will start in safe mode.

Re: Laptop repair

I would also try to take out the battery for few seconds and then put it back and turn on again

1. Unplug, Take out the battery, leave it alone for sometime... put it back in again, plug it in.. should work.
2. Just before the laptop went blank, if you had plugged it to an external video output, this could happen, use FN+f5(f7) or whatever is applicable.
3. I am assuming the Os is genuine.. I have heard that if the OS is not genuine that there could be cases of black outs..

If none of these work, you may have pulled a wire out of the socket, the one that connects the monitor to the motherboard.. if that is the case you could open it yourself and fix it OR if you are on warranty better reach out to the support...

Hope this helps..
