Where to find a shower curtain rod (Zurich)

Hello,

Among the many things I need for my new apartment is a shower curtain, and shower curtain rod (preferably a tension one, that you just twist out and then can hold against the walls without mounting). In Canada I would look at, Home Hardward, Canadian Tire, Wallmart, any other hardware store.

I can't recall seeing a "hardware store" like that in Zurich so any thoughts would be appreciated. I think I can find the shower curtain at the giant Migros in Lowenplatz, or in the co-op city in Oerlikon, so it's more the rod that's troubling me. I checked the IKEA website and didn't find anything, but that would probably be the third place I'd look, does anyone know if IKEA has such a thing, (or if there is a number I could call Ikea at to ask this, hopefully in English?)

I loves me showers and will probably spend all day tomorrow running around trying to find this, so if anyone has an idea where to get this I'd really appreciate it! TA

It's the sort of thing you would find in the hardware section of a Migros (like the one at Brunau park) or a "Do It" shop. I think I saw one of these near Hardbrucke station. (but I think they are all around the place)

The household section upstairs at the Migros City (Löwenstrasse) should have it.

Re: Where to find a shower curtain rod (Zurich)

I had the same problem and got a cheap but effective tension type rod from Jumbo.Migros was fine for the shower curtain so I guess should also have the rail .Good luck with furnishing .We found long delivery times a bit of a pain so its worth trying to get as much in the car as possible .
cheers Hopeful Hiker

That would have been the Jumbo between Cinemax and Hardbrucke station.

The biggies in Zurich are:
Jumbo: http://www.jumbo.ch/de/standorte/index.cfm
- Hardbrucke
- Letzipark
Migros Do it + Garden: http://www.doit-garden-migros.ch/g3..../s_level/40000
- Brunaupark
- Oerlikon
Coop Bau+Hobby: http://standorte.coop.ch/standorte/s...pe=BauUndHobby
- Oerlikon
The above links will give you the exact locations for all stores.

The large out-of-town shopping areas (Dietikon/Spreitenbach and Dietlikon) will have one or more of the above shops.

Yes Ikea does have one for 10chf white in colour the range of length is from 110cm to 200 cm. Instead of twisting out you have to pull it out (it has springs.. I spent quiet some time twisting it and realized you just have to pull out ....there are directions in the packet.) .

You will find it in the area where there are shower curtains .. against the wall ( I bought mine last week from Dietlikon Ikea.)
