Over the weekend I thought I would have some fun and place a bet on the football. However none of the big online betting sites (Blue Square, Sky bet, Betfair etc) will let me set up an account in Switzerland to bet in the UK even though I have a UK credit card and can provide an address. It seems they can use my IP to see where I live and block it. Does anyone have a site which they can online bet from on UK football matches?

You could get a UK VPN then sign up for a UK account.

I don't think Betfair have any restrtrictions on Swiss accounts, have you tried setting up an account with your Swiss address and bank details?

I only have a Swiss debit card so never considered an account based on that. Had always used a credit card so used my UK bank account. I'll give it a go though. Cheers.

Also if you do set up a UK account there is no restriction to using the account from a Swiss IP once it's been set up.

A debit card is better than a credit card as there is no fee for deposits...

Paddy power works for me, although the iphone app doesn't.

Check the small print...UK national lottery will allow foreign residents to buy tickets online, but state they will not pay any winnings to non-residents....

Yeah I saw that. I had used some "middle man" type company but worried they wouldn't pay out if I won so now just enter the Euromillions at the co-op
