May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Sorry for the typo! I didn't even see it. Normally I'm on top of that stuff. Late night last night, I guess.
You don't need to excuse yourself. It was actually cute Funny typos cheer up my boring office work.
I'll be slaughtering the beast too, but we do it on the 25th December. Can't wait to have a slice of my mommy's roasted turkey with olive-meat-chourico-cashew nuts filling...

It's really good She promised she'd teach me this year how to do it (you only notice way too late that you should have paid more attention to your mom's cooking). I'll translate the recepie if you want You'll have to wait till Christmas though

A very Happy Thanksgiving to you and all of the EFers as well! May we all give thanks not only today but each and every day for a loving family, great friends and good health - as well a job.
I am preparing for 14 people from 5 countries to come and celebrate with us on Saturday. I just received my fresh, free-range Swiss turkey (special delivery) that I sincerely hope will fit in the oven!

normally I just go for the old standard bread/sage/onion stuffing ( what can I tell you.. I was brought up in the Protestant church.. we weren't allowed anything TOO exciting ) but yes I'd love it if you could get me that recipe.

Amen to that !! ... the one thing of her's that I told my mum that I really wanted was her cookbook.. she had the same one for ages, stuffed with all her fav. recipes and cooking note... but when she passed the cookbook disappeared... I think she still has it and is cooking up some Heavenly meals

That is so sweet and sad at the same time. My mom lost her mother when she was very young, and she keeps telling me how she misses my grandmother cooking, and all about the gorgeous recepies she made, which got lost. You should have seen her face when we were cleaning the house of my grandfather when he died, 25 years later, and found out old gramma's cooking book under a pile of dusty garbage...
I'm getting hungry already!

There are few things I love more than a big old pile of buttery bread stuffing with a hint of sage, thyme and full of celery. Yeah, I know, boring, but with cranberries and gravy...mmmmmm.
Of course, now I eat very low carbohydrate, so I'm saving that pleasure for Christmas. Ho ho ho.
