Where to though awat some useless goods?

Hello

We have some broken suitcases and other goods that we (and apparently no one) would need. We would like to though them away -- could anyone tell me how to do it, and how much it may cost?

Thanks

Hi Vlad

I'm not sure if they do this on the German side of Switzerland but once every few months or so our commune organises a free tipping service where you can get rid of any and all rubbish.

In small communities the tipping is for some people a community event, what is rubbish for one man is another's treasure and people stay around the piles all day waiting for choice pieces to arrive, one old enterprising chap in our commune sets up stall and sells hot wine at a CHF1 a cup.

If your commune does not do this then a quick call to their offices will tell you what to do or where to go.

You can take them to the cargo tram in Zurich - it rotates around the city and takes goods that you can't fit into a Zuri-sack on a given date from 3-7pm. You have to walk, bike, or take public transit to use it though: http://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/ted/de/i...nd_e_tram.html - it's free.

They've taken down the 2011 schedule, but, from my printed one, here are the remaining cargo dates for the year:

December 13: Hirzenbach
December 20: Letzigrund
December 15: Seebach
December 23: Strassenverkehrsamt
December 6: Tiefenbrunnen
December 22: Wartau
December 8: Wollishofen

Hi Vlad,

you say "Throw away" not through just to clarify.

Also you dont have a dump around? we have 2 in our small city so I am assuming Zurich must have one? we pay 40chf a year to use it and only residents can use it. quit nice and easy really

Yep, really free. I think as long as you can carry it, you can throw it away. You just walk up to where the cargo tram is, hand your stuff over to the staff, and walk away. Easy-peasy.
