Hi,

YES, it' recommended to study any field at HWZ and in any school part of HES (University of Applied Sciences).
This university is accredited and recognized by the Swiss confederation.

Better to make your own thread than keep digging up old ones. That way the info is all in one place.

Why duplicate an already existing theme in the database! I am answering a question and not asking. Even if it is an old thread it is always useful for people who want to know recent news about the subject! this is the goal of the forum I think ...

Um, because it's better than digging up threads between 2 and 8 years old since posters in those will have found the answers long ago. Especially as, apart from this thread, the questions posed have already been answered years ago so you're not really adding anything they don't already know.

As I said before, even the poster have somehow obtain response outside this forum, it's useful for other new persons who have the same question and/or issues.

I don't see any answer to the question apart from my answer...!!! Maybe you see and know something invisible that others can't...

Apart from that, you really don't add any value to this thread, I can't see the benefits of your comments...

I said apart from this thread.

And it's a public forum. If you don't know by now, comments don't have to be helpful or useful. They can be anything and on this forum frequently are!

What other threads do you mean? We are in this thread now, why looking elsewhere instead of staying here, this is concept of any forum.

Brief, you can say whatever you want, personally I don't have interest to spend time on something not interesting and useless.
Good continuation...

If you don't see necroing years' old threads as being useless well then carry on.

It’s a no win situation isn’t it?
If he started a new thread he’d get it in the neck for not using the search function.
If he posts in a really old thread he gets it in the neck for necroing and old thread.

As he said he can’t win whatever he does.

Re: The HWZ University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich

Wow lot off non-sense off-topic chatter

Back to topic. The HWZ is a "Fachhochschule" / "hautes écoles specialisée" / "scuole universitarie professionali". English term is "University of Applied Science"

It is a "lower" tier than a full University. Less focus on academic career, more focus on the professional career. Transfer from a Bachelor from a Fachhochschule into a Universities Master program might be limited and/or need an extraordinary GPA. For example the University of St. Gallen requests a 5.0 average. https://www.unisg.ch/de/studium/zula...zulmasterstufe

The HWZ is unique in the sense that it offers only programs which can be done part time.

Now to the original question: is this school recommended to study Business Administration?

That depends on many factors. At the end you get a Master degree which is at least not from a diploma mill but a proper school. As long as you employer gives you the needed free time you also can do the school part time. To start the program you must have been working for at least 5 years. How much value the degree has in your further professional career is another question. A question which answer I do not know.

Apart from the formality and requirements of the program asked by the poster which is Business Administration (for example if it's part time, full time, years numbers of experiences, etc ...), this is a matter of taste and choice. If the poster does not like the HWZ program he/she can easily change university by switching to another UAS.

It is a "lower" tier than a full University.
Things have been changed a lot since 2006, currently UAS is a university at the same level as other universities (like EPFL, Geneva, Fribourg, etc...), they have all adopted the Bologna system which is an international standard (Bachelor = 180 ECTS, Master = 90 to 120 ECTS).
Swiss education system: https://www.sbfi.admin.ch/sbfi/en/ho...on-system.html

UAS = practical and applied science (focus on AR&D), other university = theoretical and abstract science (focus on R&D).
It's 2 different pedagogies but both on the same level, academically no one is lower or upper to the other.

Transfer from a Bachelor from a Fachhochschule into a Universities Master program might be limited and/or need an extraordinary GPA. For example the University of St. Gallen requests a 5.0 average.
To continue from Bachelor's degree to Master's degree there is no need to go to the university of St. Gallen or other, UAS also offers Master's programs, in our case Master in Business Administration here:
https://www.hes-so.ch/en/master-busi...ation-603.html

Concerning the requested GPA of 5.0 from university of St-Gallen, it's the same issue for some Master's programs at UAS (as for example the Master in Engineering) which is dedicated to the 35% best students with UAS Engineering diploma or equivalent!
Here: https://www.hes-so.ch/en/master-engineering-610.html, or here: https://www.msengineering.ch/en/home.html
Beside university of St-Gallen, other university like unil (university of Lausanne) don't request a GPA of 5.0, but they can request an additional ECTS credits if they judge that some courses and/or prerequistes have not been acquired during the Bachelor program.

Another point, studies at UAS is part-time and full-time. To study at part-time you must have a good reason like working or other, but in general studies at UAS is by default full-time. The same concept is applied in the other universities where you can request a part time program if you have a good reason and can justified.
