Tool hire in Switzerland

I need to cut loads of ceramic floor tiles and would like to hire a tile cutter. Just about every reasonably sized town in UK has at least one tool hire company.
Does anyone know of a similar business in Switzerland, preferably between Interlaken and Bern?

The larger DIY shops like Obi, Jumbo, Hornbach usually have tool rentals. Do you have any of those near you?

Many thanks. My problem was with the language as we are new to German. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. We have an Obi quite near to us so we'll see what tools they hire as we will need a range of tools in the near future.

Curses!!! I was there last week and never thought to enquire about tool hire! I'll visit the store next time I'm in Berne.
Many thanks for your advice - what a great forum with very helpful people.

Re: Tool hire in Switzerland

Might be worth having a look at HGC Commerciale, Untere Bönigstrasse, Interlaken, behind Ost station, have always found them helpfull in pointing me in the right direction for things they don't have. It's where the local builders buy so they have plenty of contacts. In the same area Gerber Stegman, the big new building just of the Landi roundabout, have a hire section. In Thun, just of the motorway the new OBI or the other branch of Gerber Stegman the other side of the motorway. Co-op Hobby in Thun (Steffisburg) do some tools and may do tool hire, worth asking if you are in the area.
I have found that it is only relatively recently that the Swiss have got into DIY, most seem happy to pay someone to do jobs, having been renovating property in the UK for over 35 years, getting a list of contacts and suppliers over here is a slow process.
Hope the above may be useful.
PS when the cloud clears give us a wave, we are on the other side of the lake.

Wow, I 've been here 13 years and gave up on trying to find any rental stuff, have mostly all my own tools now. I thought finding a tool rental place was like finding a laundry-mat.. unheard of here, as far as I know.
