Converting a blog into a book

I've been keeping a blog for few years which I would now like to convert into a (photo) book. The blog mainly contains photos but there's fair amount of text as well. The book would be for myself mainly (for memories) so I would need only few copies.

Has anyone else done this? Which service did you use?

I have material for about 300-400 pages but many of the photo book services I've found have a maximum page limit around 100-200 pages. The most promising service I've found so far is lulu.com but it's hard to say anything about the print quality for example without actually trying it out.

Volume 1, volume 2 and volume 3?

I had a friend who went travelling for two years and took thousands of photos.

He chose just 12 and made them into a (small) book.

The thing was that you could look at the book again, and again and again as each photo was so special and told a story.

Check out Blurb.com
http://www.blurb.com/make/book-tool-comparison
They might be just what you're looking for. Depending on the quality of paper you choose, they can go up to 440 pages.

I am converting a blog myself right now, so haven't seen the end result yet, but a friend of mine, who is an avid photographer and also 'bookified' her blog, is very happy with the quality.

BTW, is your blog anything I might be interested in (being a blogger and amateur photographer myself?)

Re: Converting a blog into a book

I have a book that I did on lulu and the quality is ok, you wouldn't notice any difference but then again I only had a couple of photos in it.

Have to read up on this site a bit more but thanks for the tip. Not sure if my blog would be that interesting for anyone else though (except my friends and family) as it's more of a personal journal and written in Finnish.
