Breitling watch battery?

The battery on my Breitling chrono colt has finally run out. Now I know I need to send it off to Breitling at vast sums of money to get a new battery fitted and for it to have a service (worse than a car this!). Does anyone know what sort of price I am looking at, how long it takes and can I send it directly to Breitling or do I need to use an agent e.g. the watch shop in Zug?

Worst I've got a nice watch thread ;-)

Re: Breitling watch battery?

unless its still under warantee then just take it to your local watch shop and let them change the battery. battery watches don't really need to be serviced unless there is something wrong with it, or you really have money to burn by letting them clean it (but they do a very good job of cleaning it)

the only difference between your local shoe shop repair type place and breitling is breitling will guarantee its waterproofness afterwards and may give you an extra years warantee, which is a pretty expensive way to get one

Think I paid 25chf for a battery change for my Tag, instead of the 350chf tag wanted.

eta - my tag was still waterproof afterwards

Re: Breitling watch battery?

Can anybody tell me if breitling wtches are battery powered these days or if they still need winding up? And do they really keep good time by todays standards?
