Geneva - where to hang around for a few hours before a 5am check in ?

hey, ryan from zurich city, here. I'm flying out from geneva to barcelona early sunday mornig, have to be at the airport at 5, and I know the airport closes down at midnight, so I can't stay there. I'm not about paying 100chf for a hostel when I am only going to get to sleep there a couple of hours anyway, so I was wondering if any of you rowdy Genevois knew about any places that were open all night, were I could just sit and drink for a few hours before I catch my plane? Any ideas? Merci

I know in the past, where Basel was concerned, some members in Basel helped out by offering a sofa / bed even driving to the airport.

Maybe some members from Geneva or thereabouts might be willing to help out.

Surely the train station next door will be opened at 5am.

I think the OP is asking if either the airport or the adjacent train station is open during the wee hours. I know that they are both open by 5 a.m. from personal experience, but I think they are locked up before that.

There's a casino at the Movenpick hotel about a block away from the airport. The casino might stay open all night.

Plenty places. Palais Mascotte not far from the downtown station comes to mind. Sometimes a lot of dodgy types, but can also be great fun. The music can either be great or totally suck (on both floors).

lasphere.ch is a cool pool hall where you can hang out and play pool. Not sure how late it is open but then there is pickwicks next door. Try asking them how late they open on Saturday night. How do plan on getting to the airport? Taxis in Geneva are expensive.

It's a pub not a nightclub so in any case not past 2am regardless of the day.

First bus from downtown puts you at the airport at exactly 5am.

I think if you have proof of a ticket for an early AM flight, then security will let you stay inside during closing hours. I don't actually have any evidence to back this up though...

No you can't stay inside.

The casino in Movenpick is open 24/7 and a walking distance to the airport.
