International University of Switzerland?

Does anyone know anything about the International University of Switzerland (http://www.iuswitzerland.ch/) located in Zürich?

I would be interested in any information about this school. Apparently, it's relatively new.

Thanks.

Re: International University of Switzerland?

I've personally not heard of this school before and I find it strange that a school would have obvious errors like:

"CAMPUS BLOG | [an error occurred while processing this directive] READ MORE"

"LATEST NEWS | [an error occurred while processing this directive] READ MORE"

on their mainpage. According to their own propaganda (with only three articles pertaining to Zurich) they started it in 2009: http://news.uibs.org/?p=176
Can't find much but one odd picture of the 'president' (note, not a prof, but a president) and nothing much on the "faculty" ( http://www.zurich.uibs.org/about_faculty_members.html) of 4 either...

Dunno, looks kinda fishy to me and I would not be surprised if the diplomas they might hand out are not accredited anywhere....

Better try a more established university if you want your time and money to count for something.

Re: International University of Switzerland?

The main Swiss universities are well known throughout the world,

if you have the time going to one is well worth it.

I want to do my PhD but many of the famous/well established Universities require a full time commitment.

I was looking at some and they state, ''member affiliations'' to accreditation bodies (i.e. to AACSB etc..). Be careful, you want them to say ''certified'' or accredited'' not membership..

For a PhD one generally works for a company (which can include the university itself) for 60%+ and on top of that one works the rest of the time on the thesis one is writing. Note that 'rest' here is typically another 80% if you count a 50 hour week.... at least if you are getting a real PhD
