Re: Luton airport VAT refund

Only worth going to all the trouble if you are buying a lot in one go, surely. These days it usually is just a pair of jeans and a few t-shirts, so not worth the bother.

As you legally have to declaire anything over 300 CHF & pay Swiss VAT, it would seem reasonable to export the goods properly.

As far as 'all the trouble', just get a form from the shop & post in in a box, it's really not that complicated.

Errrrm, 10 minutes of my time equals roughly 280, I'd hardly call it pointless. Maybe you've been living in CH for too long :-)

Re: Luton airport VAT refund

I know I'm reviving this old thread but I arrived from Luton airport in April and thought someone will be there to stamp my Global Blue form but no one was there and didn't have my Global Blue envelope but filled in the form with my Swiss address. God knows if the HMRC folks will post the stamped forms to me or send it to Global Blue in Slovakia as they should know their address by now.

Another question for Louise. It seems that there is no free drop off zone at Luton airport. It seems that you have to pay something to drop someone off the airport even if you didn't want to park for a minute.
