do you want to have a relationship for the sake of it or do you also want to fall in love?
He is a man. Of course, he wants to fall in love and have a
true long-lasting relationship. Isn't that the goal of every
24 year old man.

omg. did you just make a rape joke? oh wait, it's only kidnap, please carry on...
I get the feeling you will look down on me if I do a Rohypnol joke now.

This forum's changed.

On a serious note, Cafés are definitely the way to go OP, people there tend to be more relaxed, so you don't have to work your best lines too hard.

Also, a cursory glance at the book she's reading, followed by a quick Wikipedia search on the author will leave you looking like quite the educated hipster. If that fails, then there's always the above option when you buy her a drink...

Re: Looking for a girlfriend in Swiss.

is there a swiss, swissy or swisso version of the site plentyoffish.com? I've had mates with great success on there, and they are far from attractive. But good people.

Unless one is really good at stating quickly after that you pulled that trick as you really needed an opener, if you can't though, for a long term relationship, starting out with a lie that you are into the same stuff is generally not a good thing.... Then again people have been forever based on a few small lies...

HollidayG. you nailed it, all i am looking for ultimately is to settle down and have a family of my own. I am not at all into one-night-stands all. So, guess this things take time, and i should be patient.

StirB, thanks for your contribution, it is worth contemplating.

One day, you'll laugh about it together, but people are generally shy, so I think a small white lie as an 'in' is perfectly OK...who knows, maybe you'll find out that you actually like JK Rowling?

I can agree with that, but better to explain it before you get caught in not having an interrest at all in what you just claim to know loads about and making an impression that you did not just google it

As for shyness, I tend to actually fall under that category and I let other folks start the conversation, at that point thoug chatting is easy enoug for me, but before that it is quite hard especially with people I mit have a genuine interrest in.

Do you mean the person or the books she wrote? As the books are fine, but one cannot know a person without having spent a considerable amount of time with said person and thus I have no clue what kind of person she would be. Likely one with a great fantasy and an even better clue on doing business though, thus that mix could be anything from evil to fairytale

Hi everyone, what's up..
Ok, i arrived in Swiss about a month ago, and got transfered to Lausanne, i have been in here for almost three weeks and have been looking for friends, preferably a girl that speaks French. Mostly, it's because i've gotten lonely but at the same time, i want start a relationship. Anyway, long story short the problem rests with the fact how to meet a girl in Swiss? I used to be good at initiating conversations from where i am, but here it seems like i have lost all my powers lol. So, i am just asking, how do you relly get the number of that girl you see in the park, or inside tge train? I would love an accurate info. on this.
Is there something you do, a line you say that is understood by most that you are interested in them?

Thanks for the info,
And if it helps i am 24yrs, and male obviously.

Thanks..
I have rather more girls than I can handle. You can have one of mine.

Yes, I meant the books, but, if you are lucky enough to meet JK Rowling at a Cafe in Zurich, by all means, try and chat her up!

Regarding the other thing, yeah, you probably need to admit at some point how you met, but I think it is probably forgivable if combined with flowers / chocolates

Madonna? oh my god! How old are you? I sincerely hope they where referring to the mother of Christ, rather than the mother of pop.
Or maybe the "fallen Madonna with the big boobies"?

Here's a good one to start a conversation: Say, were the other angels sad when you left them?
