Re: Classical music corner

For the cello enthusiasts here, Svante Henryson - not exclusively classical (though he does that too) - one of my informal acquaintances (father of my daughter's classmate) His playing live is mesmerizing.

Hope that opens as a link, otherwise I'm going to have to challenge my IT patience (and that is minimal). H

Re: Classical music corner

Gloriously restful. Yet dramatic. Sounds like it could accompany a costume drama.

Re: Classical music corner

Agree with that - no lack of emotional activity, calm or agitated. If one looks on Youtube there are some videos (forgot that link I included was only a sound file)

Nice! I'm a great fan of Dominico Scarlatti (I've got all 555 of his harpsichord sonatas in a boxed set played by the late and great Scott Ross). His talent is unique. The imaginative uses of harmony, rhythm and melody are endless.

Given the challenges of playing these pieces with 10 fingers on the keys (crossed hands, huge jumps ...) adapting to a guitar must be tough.

Scarlatti disliked the piano so much that it is even thought that he had two pianos converted back to harpsichords.
