Any plans for Diwali?

Hi there,
Diwali is just a day away..does anyone have any plans? Do you know of any festivities planned anywhere in Zurich?

Re: Any plans for Diwali?

Hi Nina123,

I am not sure of any plans, as I am still waiting for my work permit to arrive.

But I would to take this opportunity to wish you and all the Indians a very "HAPPY DIWALI" to all of you.

Cheers

The following from the Indian Association of Zurich

"As part of this year's celebration, we are delighted to present "The Golden Roots of Bollywood" - a classical Kathak dance recital by Sudeshna Maulik, accompanied by Rajesh Pandey (vocal) and Prithviraj Mishra (tabla) at the Renaissance Zürich Hotel.

There will also be a special Diwali Puja ceremony, a grand Diwali buffet, fireworks and a cultural celebration at the end.

Come join the colours, lights and festivities of Diwali 2007 with friends and family!"

More info on the site.

Happy Diwali

Re: Any plans for Diwali?

No I didnt find anything for today - most of the people I know are just going to the temple and then dinner ..the weather outside is so horrible..dunno if that too will happen or no...so maybe just a pooja at home and nice dinner..

Re: Any plans for Diwali?

Yeah, it's a pity that the forum response for this was non-existent. Still, gave me an excuse to go to Kanchi in Luzern yesterday

Re: Any plans for Diwali?

Hmm...all the Indians at the Uni threw a party for all our non-Indian friends for Diwali... I'm sorry I didn't see this thread earlier...

Give us a buzz if you're ever up at St. Gallen...

Re: Any plans for Diwali?

That sounds fun!
St. Gallen, sure, maybe Holi gives us an excuse to again begin scouting for some Indian parties :-)
Thanks for the invite

Re: Any plans for Diwali?

No problem. It was pretty neat since there's a bunch of Indians in the MBA program this year at the HSG...only thing missing was crackers...we did everything else! Tea-lights, coloured rice, loads of indian food, taash till about 4 in the morning...
