| | how to clean this flooring
i have this flooring in 2 rooms, I think its called linoleum, not sure ? does anyone know what its called.
My question is how do I clean it, some parts are blackish and other part is clean and white.
I have put some soap and scrubbed it but its a lot of labour to clean a big area, what product is good to use and where can i get it which is strong and will work with a mop.
any suggestions..

Yes, it looks like linoleum. I have it in the kitchen and, as soon as I have the money to replace it, it's goooone.
I have the same problem, some areas are darker. I washed it with floor cleaner, with no result.
I just gave up .

It is more likely vinyl. Linoleum is an all natural product. Vinyl is a synthetic product. The way to tell is to scrap a little area in a corner where it can not be seen.
Linoleum has the colour/pattern all the way through while vinyl has the colour/pattern stamped on the surface only. If you scape a bit off and it is white behind, it is vinyl.
The cleaning and care of linoleum and vinyl are not the same. Then you can Google how to clean the one you have.

More comprehensive instruction here in German and French. |

Not sure which one it is, but have you ever heard of Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Sponge?
I used this product all the time back home, and although they do not have the Mr. Clean brand here (that I've seen anyways), I was surprised when I found a similar product at Otto's. It's called Santex Powerclean Radier-Schwamm. 2.00CHF for four Stück.
Here is a photo on their website : photo
It's great for cleaning many things.
Try looking for it in Aldi's too.

They do sell the sponges here (photo of one version). See it in the cleaning section of bigger Coop stores.
