How to clean wooden floor

Hello Experts,

I will be leaving my apartment in a month and need some advice on cleaning.

My biggest concern is the wooden floor in the kitchen. A lot of black lines and marks have appeared on the wooden floor. I tried to scrub but there was no improvement.

Any tips on how to get rid of them would really help.

Best Regards
Rohan

Those look like indents which have gotten dirty....was something dragged across the floor repeatedly?

I have the same marks on mine and they don't come clean. Interested to hear of someone has had success....

Re: How to clean wooden floor

im not an expert and my ideas may make matters worse.. but, if you have tried everything, maybe you can get some really soft sandpaper (like 600 grit) and gently sand it in the same direction as the grain.. it will lighten the wood a bit, but you can then fix that as well if it looks terrible.

Those should be easily removed with plain office eraser. Hope it works, good luck

Re: How to clean wooden floor

Thanks for the comments guys.

I have a small table with wheels thats placed in the Kitchen. I assume that this is what caused the marks. However, its a little surprising as the wheels seems to be made of plastic.

Maybe Sandpaper will be my last option as I dont want to end up in a bigger mess.

Let me try with the office eraser and see where it leads to.

Re: How to clean wooden floor

Is the floor sealed, waxed, oiled? We used to clean our oak floor with wire wool and firm foot action going along the grain, and re-wax and polish- but this won't apply to a sealed floor. Or do this and re-seal with 2 coats of suitable sealing varnish. You can also hire a professional sander, then re-seal or re-wax.
