Where to buy an English bed

One thing i can't get used to in Switzerland is the low beds. The feeling of sleeping so close to the ground doesn't feel right to me.
Does anyone know where i can get a normal bed?
I know of a place in Zürich that stocks ViSpring, but i don't want to sell my soul to get one!

They sell box springs and mattresses in the furniture shops in Germany.

Re: Where to buy an English bed

What is a "normal bed"?

If you want a higher bed, some of the bed here allow you to set up the lattes so that they are higher up. If you want a box spring you can find them here too. But they tend to be quite expensive, high end beds, like Dux beds.

Hello

I have a day bed for sale. Pls take a look at the picture. If interested pls send a PM. The bed makes a king size bed or 2 sincle bed. The picture shows that the 2 mattress fit one under the other.
The price is 450chf

You would have to pick it up in Mannedorf.

Re: Where to buy an English bed

Thank you telandy, I do know this website, prices are a wee bit steep for me, i also believe they send them from England so you would have to pay customs tax.

Is it a high bed like a divan?

Re: Where to buy an English bed

If you just look for a higher bed and not for a divan, try Micasa. I bought mine there and they got different heights. Actually, it seems they have divan beds as well.
Have a look here: http://www.micasa.ch/de/alle%20moebe...en/betten.catp

Re: Where to buy an English bed

Just to state the obvious, there are 3 parts to a bed, matress, base and frame/headboard. If you buy a quality innerspring matress then then the base can be pretty basic as long as the matress breathes (and you rotate it regularly). One of the best deals on spring matress' is through www.kingkoil.de . If you do buy a foam matress then the base is more critical. For the frame it is for looks only so if you are happy with Ikea ect looks, go for it but it you want a quality, handmade frame/headboard at around Mobel Pfister prices, I will custom make one for you in any size/height combination. PM me or have a look at www.noonwoodwork.com for the style of my work but there isn't many bed photos there so I am happy to do a deal to get a few more photos on there.
