Iphone 3GS upgrade to IOS 6 killed phone

In 5 minutes of madness I thought I would upgrade an iphone 3GS to IOS 6 to allow me to use BBC iplayer, but after doing so the phone doesn't reboot. The apple logo just flashes. I have tried to restore from the pc, same effect, has anyone any idea

How do I downgrade the phone? I upgraded it it originally on the phone itself by going to settings.

My iPhone also crapped out during the upgrade. You will need to connect it to iTunes and do the restore. I hope you have a recent backup.

Re: Iphone 3GS upgrade to IOS 6 killed phone

There are factory reset options, using the power button etc , and not connecting to iTunes.
  • Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time.
  • Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it.
  • Wait until the white Apple logo appears.
  • When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting.

That's one way, but Google for others...
