Welcome Dahlia,

There ARE volunteer opportunities out there, but many of them require conversational knowledge of the local language, or aren't immediately obvious. If you have any affiliation with a school, church, or business here, those are great places to start. Additionally, I would use the forum search function to read others' stories about how they integrated in Switzerland; perhaps you'll find something useful there. Keep checking the forum as well, as members post opportunities all the time. Keep an open mind; while some of these opportunities might not be the type for which you are looking, you might meet someone there who does have a connection to your type of opportunity.

Last, I would join social groups and sign up on meetup.com to try and meet more people. The more people you meet, the more possibilities you will have.

Don't get discouraged- this will take time! Good luck!

Re: volunteering work

Also, you need a work permit to volunteer, although many places will overlook this.

Re: volunteering work

Thank you a lot Jobsrobertsharpii i will check them right away
No i don't have a work permit! The reason why i came from France to zurich is bcz my husband found a job here and i supported him!
And i don't even have the Swiss residence permit yet!
So it's going to be hard to find some volunteering work!??

Re: volunteering work

Have a look here for Zurich and Winterthur or ask at the next church (Reformierte Kirche / Katholische Kirche). There are lots of opportunirties to get involved. And normally, you don't need a work permit for volunteer work. But you might need some german language skills. Good luck!
