Seeking Macaroon Making Course in Zurich

Hi Folks

I would love to learn to make Macaroons and adore the Sprungli Luxemburgerli - and wondered does anyone know if there is a class/course available to learn how to make these "melt-in-your-mouth" treats?

Many thanks
JJ

They're actually really easy but a bit time consuming - especially if you're making lots of flavours.

Even I managed it here.

They didn't stick at all. However, you need to bake one tray at a time to allow the bottoms to cook.

It was all a bit of a bet as my wife reckoned I would screw it up. She didn't even mind when I cut up her piping nozzles with a craft - knife .

The inspirational bit (lazy bit, in reality) was to print out A4 sheets of circles on the PC printer and slide these under the baking sheets. After piping, I removed them.
The alternative would have been to draw 150 circles.

Re: Seeking Macaroon Making Course in Zurich

Thanks Tom

Well done you! They look great and I am sure tasted yummy too :-)

I've tried a couple of times now myself and used both the French and Italian methods. However, there were still a few questions I have as I would like them to be perfect.

Could you share your recipe with me and I will try again...

Many thanks
JJ :-)

It was from a newspaper. I'll see if I can find a link.

Re: Seeking Macaroon Making Course in Zurich

You don't need a course to do them! Unless you really want to...
They are easy to make. If you are lucky you can make them perfect from the first time. I used to do this a lot when I was 10 yrs old and I discovered that I like baking and playing with dough .
Don't despair if they are not right from the first time but you don't need a course.
