Christmas shopping on Sundays in Zurich.
 

Just a heads up that shops are allowed to open today in Zurich as well as the 9th and 23rd December from 11.00 - 18.00. I'm guessing all the main shopping centres and most shops in the centre of the city will be open, as will the Viadukt market and most of the shops in the arches.

Every Sunday the Railcity at Zurich HB and the Shopping Arcade at the Airport are packed with customers , thats a reality...........:D

Does this apply to ALL stores in/around Zurich? I was trying to check the OBI website and couldn't find any "hours of operation"?!

Shops are allowed to open, but that doesn't mean they have to. Best just call them first.

That's exciting! I used to head out on Sunday wanting to go buy something and then realize once I'm out that all shops are closed on Sunday. Thanks for the tip!

I've always wondered where this Viadukt market is how do you find it? I only know around the Bahnhof and some streets nearby.I took a few trams out to the end once each just to see where they go, well three actually, but that's about it. As you can see I don't make it often into Zurich.

Catch trams 13, 4 or 17 from the HB to Dammweg and you can't miss it (being located underneath a great big viaduct). :)

Shops are open again today in Zurich... but not next Sunday (we're only allowed 3 shopping days in December for some reason :confused:).

The Letzipark shopping center was also open today and will be on Dec 23rd as well from 11:00 till 18:00.

Typical, was about to head off to Zurich to get some Christmas gifts as too busy doing household chores, and now find out they close this Sunday!!
I dont think i will ever understand the Swiss mentality to shopping!

Glattzentrum is open today and next Sunday. But it's a zoo.

Today's the first of the 3 shopping Sundays in Zurich his year. The others (at least for the Viadukt market) are the 8th and 22nd.
