where to find big/custom size boxes for postal packaging ?

Hi all,

DHL allows parcels to be sent internationally up to 31.5 kg in weight and 120cm x 60 cm x 60cm in dimensions. Does anybody know where can i find a box of such dimensions in Zurich to send a parcel in ?

cheers

Ps. DHL or swisspost dont offer a box of such dimensions themselves

Try these people in Weinfelden, ZH:

http://www.packshop.ch/karton.html

They might have something that fits your needs.

Re: where to find big/custom size boxes for postal packaging ?

The most commonly used maximum sized boxes:

100x50x50
http://www.inka-shop.ch/index.php?pa...duct&info=2756

100x60x60
http://www.inka-shop.ch/index.php?pa...duct&info=2757

120x50x40
http://www.inka-shop.ch/index.php?pa...duct&info=2474

But isn't DHL meassuring the weight by volume weight?

To calculate the volumetric weight of your shipment simply multiply
the length (cm) x height (cm) x width (cm) of the shipment package
and divide the result by 5000.

Thanks a lot for the link. even though i called them and they didn't have a box with the exact dimensions i'm looking for, but generally seems like a useful link.

thanks, the 100x60x60 seems to be the closest ive got so far to the dimensions i'm looking for.

No DHL is not based on volumetric weight, at least not for the service i'm seeking which is sending a parcel to the states. so as long as dimensions of the box fits within 120x60x60, i can fill it with from 20 kg up to 31.5 kg for the same price which i think its a pretty good deal.

i think the one which is based on volumetric weight is Fedex.
