I`ve been trying to buy on-line from Amazon, both .de and .uk web sites - but keep getting the same message that it is only available to customers in DE or UK.
I never had a problem before - until I realised that all of my many other purchases were gifts with delivery addresses in the UK or Germany.
We are not talking anything obscure here - just music downloads . . .something like `Karaoke for crap singers` - not that it was the title I was buying . . that was just an example.
Anyway . . I must be doing something wrong . . . any ideas plese . . . hopefully sensible ones (he asked somewhat stupidly).

If you are buying books then there is no problem for other items then its as you descrined

I have bought other items than books from both sites with no problems....
However, there are the occasional items that can not be delivered to Switzerland (I think it depends on who is shipping or the specific item), so maybe you´ve just been unlucky in your search.

My daughter recently wanted Union Jack and cross of St. George iPhone covers, which she couldn't find here, in the exact form she wanted.

She found them on .de, but one was unavailable so ordered that .uk.
They both arrived as letter post without problem.

....... but, I have had accounts set up on both for years, now, so the setting up of an account may have changed.

I think there is a no go for electrical products ordered from .de

I've used Beemp3 in the past, as it was recommended by Gizmo (whom I trust), but they're also recommending diffuser.fm, which I don't know.

Not Swiss download sites, but it doesn't really matter.

Mp 3 can be bought from amazon.com or Itunes, download no problem.

The main problem with buying music downloads from Amazon in the UK is that for a lot of the tracks they only have the license to distribute them in the UK, so unless you have a UK registered gift card you can't get them.

I use http://www.mp3million.com/ for my MP3 purchases they seem to have a good catalogue of music and very reasonably priced, being honest almost too reasonably priced but I've not had any problems with them.

Sometimes it depends on the specific seller, who is selling through Amazon. When I have a problem, sometimes I've been able to just choose another seller for the same product, and they were able to sell/ship to Switzerland.

I created yet another account with Amazon (this time with Amazon.com) - tried to buy mp3 downloads and got a similar message as before `mp3 music is not available to customers outside of the US`

Maybe there are licensing issues? Although it doesn't make much sense...I jave ordered on all 3 sites but like others have said, they won't always ship to CH. If it is an mp3 and thus a digital download, can't you use a local (to the US or UK) address for the purchase?
Or does it check the IP address?

Thanks for the tip - I do realise that you are trying to help. Actually I have an address that I can use in both Germany and the UK but I want to buy mp3 downloads . . . that cant be collected as it should come directly to my computer . . . . my stupid STUPID COMPUTER . . sh*t! I should have just bought it the stupid cd from good old HMV when I was back in the UK over Easter.
Never mind - I tried some of the other music download sites - - didnt get past the new account page as the kept telling me that my e mail address was wrong . . . checked it 3 times . . think I don`t know my own e mail address? . . . I`m a little stressed . .you may have gathered . . ah well . .too late because I am now at the airport . . it will all have to wait until I return. Thanks for the suggestions anyway.

Anyway, if you have a UK or US credit card and address you can use a vpn service. I use Tunnel bear which is excellent. Then you can access all services as if you were in the US/UK. Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify....

For UK download, wouldnt a UK IP address service get round the problem. I assume you have a UK credit card Basher.

We do this with our Kindle books, as Amazon can sometimes get a little anal if you keep buying books from the UK whilst being in another country.

To be able to download you need the billing address of the credit card to be in the UK, one possible way round it is to buy a visa/mastercard gift and register it to a UK address, I do this when I'm in the US and want to but things off US sites that won't allow an overseas card works really well :-)

This lists what types of items can be shipped to what countries for Amazon UK...I'm sure the .de site has something similar, but my German isn't good enough to find it...
