If you know exactly what brand and model you want you can compare prices on toppreise.ch

Hi Mark,

If you live in Zuerich, you can't do much better than http://www.digitec.ch/ for price. You can order online, and either pick up at their depot in Hardbruecke, or have it sent by registered mail for a few CHF more. They stock most popular brands. I bought a Digital Ixus 750 there and didn't have any problems. I even took it back when I noticed a dead pixel on the CCD and they replaced it no problem. ( even though its questionable wether Canon themselves would replace a CCD with 1 dead pixel. )

Cheers
Grahame

Excellent; I looked at the sites and am thinking of the Samsung NV-7 it seems the best digital camera out there atm. Awesome - thanks everybody.

Check out. http://www.dpreview.com/. Reviews (only 2) of NV7 are not glowing. What about the New Canon G7. Its got me drooling. . A question of price too I suppose.

I couldn't find the reviews of the Samsung NV7; I know there are lots of reviews of the NV10 which are not approving. Can you provide the link, and I checked the Canon - v.impressive, if only it was out!

Re: Where is the best place to buy a camera in Zurich?

don't forget the ol' Cannon powershot S80 - manual and auto features, nice 28mm wide angle, 8Megapix (not necessary, but what the hell). many other fancy Operating sys enhancements (as does most of the canon range from mid last year) - like the little wheel - its like an iPod but better. fits in your pocket (even if it begs the question - is that a camera in your pocket?)

But in the end, it all depends on what you are looking for really.........auto vs. manual, many pix vs few, small vs large, does it take standard AA batteries or not. Can you hang-glide with it in a emergency.........etc
