ikea return policy

Bougth 3! ikea rugs and put it out yesterday and ever since I opened the packaging it has been releasing a horrible odour.
What is ikea return policy for used (only for a one day) items?
Unfortunately I do not understand German so I did not found information on their website

Re: ikea return policy

AFAIK IKEA Switzerland has a 3 months return policy if you have the receipt.

I'd wait a few days though and see if the smell evaporates.

Re: ikea return policy

The weather looks like it's going to be fine at least the rest of today and tomorrow, do you have a balcony where you could spread the rugs out for a few hours? Maybe a proper airing out will solve the problem?

Re: ikea return policy

We have a garden but sometimes our neighbour's cats are playing there

I hope they would not like these rugs

Re: ikea return policy

Ikea has a wonderful return policy. If you're unhappy with your purchase, even if you used it for some time, they'll accept a return (you won't find it on their website). I bought a couch, used it for a couple of months and wanted to return it as it was extremely uncomfortable. It certainly had signs of wear but they accepted the return. I've been one their most loyal customers ever since I buy everything there and I go to other shops only when Ikea doesn't have what I need.

Re: ikea return policy

They do have a great return policy-though you need the reciept. Also, I reieved a gift certificate when I returned something (it was unopened-just the wrong item). Not a problem for us, but may be an issue for others.
