Re: Best Hairdresser in Zurich

I did, that's how I found them in the first place. I went to see the Yabonga pictures with my coworkers, and when I saw that they clearly knew what they were doing, I asked them if they would cut my hair on the spot. They were booked that evening, but I made an appointment and went back the following day.

Re: Just a haircut please

The 'academie de coiffure' in Lausanne has really good prices. There should be something similar in Zürich I'd guess. The work is done by students though, but the results always looked good.

Saleh is Josefstr. 141 (near langstrasse) is unbeatable - great service, great prices (22 CHF).

DIY fans: keep an eye out for specials in interdiscount - I bought a clipping machine from them years ago, and it's still going strong (when I'm too lazy to make the trip to Saleh)
I went here with my husband last week and it's still "cheap" compared to a lot of other hairdressers and they did a great job. Both on my long hair and his short hair. It's a 'no appointment' salon, so you can just walk in there and we were both lucky to have an English speaking hairdresser. Also the fact that they don't make you wash your hair on the spot is something I like. I much rather wash my hair at home in advance and they are completely fine with that.

Cheers,
Kerstin

Re: Just a haircut please

For girls it doesn't make sense, but for men, if they want only cut hair without styling, the most reasonable way how to do that would be... buy your own personal hair cutter. It's not hard. You don't need to have "special" knowledges about process. You'll be able to save some money for you and your family. Hair cutter doesn't cost expensive (aprox. 60 CHF) and you will be able to pay for that only once. You can find hair cutter in Interdiscount for example.

There is no way I'm getting anywhere near my husbands head with a pair of clippers! He'd probably end up like this and i'd end up with a divorce . 65chf is much cheaper...

Re: Just a haircut please

Mine was half way down my back. I got it cut to chin level (still doing that funny hairbrushing act) it cost me 85 francs.

Money well spent, in my case.

And i kept a bit to give to my mum.

Oh, common. I'm using clipper for many years and everything is clear and beautiful. You should learn how to use nozzles for clippers and it will be clear for you

There is a hairdresser down the road from me (Oerlikon, see the above link) who does mens cuts for 20CHF with no appointments. They're called Copa, or Costa, or something like that.
I know this place, went there Thur last week and it is 20CHF. Cheapest I've found. Pretty quick & friendly too. Place has old photos showing it's been there a while.

I suppose, what you mean is
www.coiffeur-ibo.ch at Schaffhauserstr. 371 in Oerlikon
www.coiffeur-masoud.ch at Schaffhauserstr. 86 nr SH-Platz is the one mentioned above
Indeed follow the "Ohmstrasse" signs exiting the station and it's the next parallel street.

A friend of mine went to Austria to get a cheap hair cut, the hairdresser slipped with the machine he had a big clump of hair missing could not stop laughing when we saw him, (laughing now when i picture it in my head) he never went back again

You get what you pay for, i pay nearly 200frcs and worth it (it is not my hairdressers fault before anyone starts)

Re: Just a haircut please

Where can I get a really artistic and manly hair cut in Zurich for under 35 CHF???

I don't speak ze German. I'm worried that if they won't be skilled enough to pull it off if I go for something too challenging, so which picture should I take?

or

Re: Just a haircut please

It doesn't have to be expensive to be good. I have all my trust in Turkish hairdressers. They are the best with the women's hair. My last 2 haircuts cost me 10 chf each and it was the best I had since I moved here where I spend way too much for haircut.

I'll second Frankie B.

Not only do you get a beer while he's cutting your hair, but you get to choose a music video to watch, and get a constant stream of slightly-worse-for-wear-but-always-entertaining droppers-in to keep you amused.

If you get there before noon, he might also be sober when he does your hair! Bonus!

Up to date hairdresser recommendations

Hi everyone,

I have just moved to Zurich and I'm looking for a really good english speaking (until my swiss german improves) hairdresser for women in central Zurich? I have had some bad hair experiences on my travels in other countries, so I would really appreciate any recommendations!

Thanks,

Imo.v.B

Re: Up to date hairdresser recommendations

Took me 9 years here to find the perfect hairdresser here:

Heidi Giudicetti at the Vanity salon in Zurich
Bleicherweg 17
8002 Zurich
044 201 80 18

She only works on Fridays so you might have to wait to see her.
