| | Looking for a Dentist in Zürich
Can anyone recommend a good dentist in Zürich, preferably English-speaking and in the Bellevue area?
Thanks

I think you'll find most speak good English; I know someone who had something done near Albisriederplatz....my dentist is in Kilchberg so that's even further from Bellvue.....
From xpatxchange:
Dr. med. dent. Markus Mettler
Goethestrasse 20
8001 Zurich
Tel: (01) 254 99 99
Fax: (01) 254 99 98
Email: info@mettler-dent.ch www.mettler-dent.ch
An Xpat Reports: "With perfect location, in the heart of Zurich, Dr. Mettler is an extremely nice guy and highly recommended (he deals with both young and old people and take care of your whole family). Certified prosthodontist from the University of Zurich, Dr. Mettler's clinic offers a variety of specialty treatment among others esthetic dentistry, implants, crowns and bridges, dental hygenist care.
Speaks fluent English, German and Swiss German, as well as good French."
An Xpat Reports: "I had a discolored front tooth for years and through word of mouth I heard about Dr. Mettler, who is a family dentist, but also a highly recommended specialist in esthetics. He was able to correct my problem with a ceramic crown. The result is amazing; I'm so happy.....it's a real work of art. In addition, during all my visits I felt comfortable, because the staff was so friendly and supportive. What more can I say!"

Is anyone ever going to describe a visit to the dentist as enjoyable? |

| | Re: Looking for a Dentist in Zürich (or just outside)
My first post:
I enjoy visting the Dentist. Honestly.
I find it very relaxing knowing there's no phone-calls, e-mail or children to disturb me for an hour.
Outside of Züri for anyone else interested:
Hirt Pedrini in Uster 044 940 2575 zahnarzt@hirtpedrini.ch
Under 200 CHF for 6 month check and clean.
Initial appointment will be more as they do X-Rays.
Spotlessly clean, perfect English, no pain.
No problems.

| | Zurich: Dentist recommendations
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Minoretti? Someone recommends him to me but I would like to hear more opinion. Or if anyone has any great dentist? I need to get a night guard (prevent from grounding the teeth ), anyone has any idea how much will that costs?
Any comment will be greatly appreciated.

One of Dr Stocker specialities is TMJ problems (possibly the reason you need a night guard).

As you are unlikely to find a cheap dentist in Zürich , you may as well look for fringe benefits: I was recently told that the dentist in the main station has some "top birds working there" (direct quote).

If you're from the UK or N. Ireland, grab a cheap flight and visit your National Health Service dentist next time you're over! It's around £12/CHF28 for a basic check up, and they usually give you a quick polish. Fab |

Then you should give us an idea of what you need? There's a big difference between the price of a check up and the price of root canal work. |

If you are looking for a price with regards to a mouth guard to prevent grinding your teeth, you are looking at about CHF 1500... prices vary from dentist to dentist... Hope that helps |

Just realised why my question seemed vague, I did write more but for some reason it hasn't appeared, had that problem earlier also where it submitted my message before I had finished what I was writing.

You will need a bank loan. Take clove oil for the toothache and paracetamol for the financial headache. If you have the time , go Czech/Poland/Germany or UK.
I remember once posting a comparative histogram link of dental prices in Europe and Switz, it was probably on exprats.

I know, since I moved to Switzerland just under 4 years ago, I've had six or seven root canals |

I'm looking for a good dentist in Zurich, and so I thought I'd resurface this thread in case anyone had new recommendations. I don't really have a preference on location - after all, you only see them once every six months. Quality is much more important than the time it takes to get there. |
