and the person who gave me Captain Morgan when I was drunk on absinthe.
Anyone who can drink enough Absinthe to make them drunk deserves a medal IMO.

Re: EF at its very best ....

I'll join the happy feeling thread and say:-

I've been around the EF block for a long time now, and people continue to surprise me with their kindness/support/help.

So I'll keep it short and say "thank you" and "you know who you are!"

You aint seen me right!

Re: EF at its very best ....

In effect for me kindness should be for reasons of empathy and not in hope of a return favor. kind of like this video

coming to EF, despite not being a prolific poster, I have found quite some occasions where people have volunteered advice and help..may be I just asked nicely .

but apart from the help I am grateful to EF for providing me varied perspectives to issues. Despite many threads getting trolled on and being derailed from the original topic, I have found many an interesting conversation, well articulated different perspectives from members which are an eye opener ( ok ok .. some times an eye opener..)

After a couple of very early EF events I have not had the chance ( yes.. been to lazy) to participate in physical get togethers of the forum for quite some years, however I am still grateful to those take the trouble to help a faceless name on the forum

Re: EF at its very best ....

Thank you, borntough, for posting this wonderful, magical video. In real life, it might not work with such a quick turn-around, okay. But yes, there is soooo much room for helping, being kind and responsible and going a little out of one's way to making the world a better place. And for graciously receiving others' gestures in that direction.

I find it interesting that the recipients mostly had a moment of alert confusion and then, as they understood that they weren't being "had" for anything, not tricked, not asked to buy anything, they could then relax and accept that this moment, right now, can be just good and kind.

Whenever I need to measure a nanosecond, I count the time it takes for posts about financial services companies to be deleted.

Whenever I need to measure "eternity", I count the time it takes for the Local to post a news story.
