Strange bill after bought Coop prepaid SIM cards

We got two strange bills 5 weeks after we bought two Coop mobile prepaid SIM cards from Coop City. The bills seemed for the SIM cards but the pay slips give Orange communication account and the layout of the bill is similar to an Orange mobile bill.

It is not clear where the bills came from, except CoopMobile ABO was printed on the envelopes. However the address is of Orange communication. The bills seem printed by an inkjet printer, which makes them look even more strange. I am wondering if this is just a mistake or a scam. Anyone has similar experiences?

Coop mobile uses the Orange network.

However why would they bill you for the sim's now? Did you not pay for them at the time?

Re: Strange bill after bought Coop prepaid SIM cards

We bought from Coop City so we paid when we got the SIM cards. When I log into my Orange account with the number of one of the SIM cards, there is no such a bill. So I guess the bill might come from another company. But why they want me to pay to Orange?

Re: Strange bill after bought Coop prepaid SIM cards

As already said, Coop Mobile uses Orange.
If you have already paid for the SIMs at time of purchase and have a receipt, disregard the bill.
Coop Mobile have previously offered SIM starter packs for free or just a nominal charge (5,00), so no way should there be a bill to follow ........ unless of course you've cocked up, and ignorantly unwittingly signed up for a contract, or got a new phone as part of the deal.

Go back to Coop City, taking all the paperwork with you and ask Customer Services to explain what's going on; if the bill isn't legitimate then they need to explain how whoever it is that sent you the bill got hold of your details.

Re: Strange bill after bought Coop prepaid SIM cards

Is there actually a bill with an amount on it? Or are they blank? Wondering if it's a way to top up your credit?

Re: Strange bill after bought Coop prepaid SIM cards

My guess would be that you have a contract, not prepaid SIM card, based on the fact that their subscriptions are called "CoopMobile ABO"....

Re: Strange bill after bought Coop prepaid SIM cards

Thanks all for your advices. Here is a scan of the bill with pay slip. Does it look strange? For the other SIM card we bought at the same time, the bill came in German.

We definitely bought pre-paid SIM cards, as the numbers were registered to Orange, where they shown as pre-paid cards with remaining balance. But since we recently moved home and could not find the receipts for the SIM cards any more.
