EVA Foam for Costume-Building

Hello!

So I'm building a costume. Said costume needs armour. Because badass costumes without armours just aren't any fun. So I've never done this before, but I have found pretty much everything I need.

Except!

Except for the one thing: EVA Foam. Where can I get this stuff?

Because most cosplayers or costume builders, they go for Worbla, which is really expensive from what I gather, but the floor tiles that are made of EVA Foam are really cheap. So you take a heat gun to them, bend them into shape, it stays and then you spraypaint it.

EVA Foam is cheap. Because it comes in the form of floormats that you can cut up. These floormats come in this shape:

So I want to get some black, and maybe some green, EVA tiles. Where can I get them? Does anyone know?

I've tried Jumbo near the Hardbrücke and I scoured the internet. But neither EVA Foam nor Ethylene Vinyl Acetate yields anything of worth.

I am sure any store selling carpet and flooring will know what you mean. Have you looked in the
big DIY stores, Baumarkt, Heim & Hobby, DoItand Garden, ?

http://www.decoplastic.com/bodenmatt...-mat-matte.htm

search for EVA Bodenbeläge

Looks like it is also known as Moosgummi

.

Re: EVA Foam for Costume-Building

Thanks!

I've walked through those and didn't see anything. So I'll do this thing where I go and ask these guys tomorrow. Or something.

I was just wondering if you guys knew a place right off the bat. So I'm grateful for secret hints.

Did you ever have any luck finding a reliable, good source for EVA foam? I would love to know how it worked out. I'm trying to get my hands on some foam as well and I'm not having much luck.
